Neat Cutting Fluids

Forsythe's current line of neat cutting fluids are designed to provide superior finish and to enhance machinability for applications where mineral oils are preferred. Neat fluids are generally used in machining applications where cutting speeds are low. Heat generation becomes excessive at higher speeds, necessitating cooling with a water soluble product.

Forsythe's product line can be categorized by product chemistry and by compatibility with metals being machined. Forsythe's offerings include both chlorinated and non-chlorinated products. Sulphur chemistry plays an important role in lubricant compatibility with the metallurgy of the work piece and the machine. Fluids containing active sulphur are especially effective in machining ferrous metals. Active sulphur additives are inappropriate for use with yellow metals since the sulphur will cause staining. For machining applications of yellow metals, or for use in machines with critical yellow metal components, Forsythe is pleased to offer non-staining products.
